I-40 asphalt

yeah... I-40 is really pretty, all things considered.
it has natural liatris, delphinium and butterfly
bush... in addition to various other indigenous
wildflowers and plants that are so frikken beautiful.

i'll see what happens with the pavement thing

What an excellent question you have here! I'm not sure what is causing the reflection on that asphalt, but I don't believe you are driving on the final surface layer either. The contractor has taken a break for the winter since the weather is not suitable for asphalt paving and they will return mid-March to finish the job. I'll do some investigating and get back to you with any info I can find.

what an interesting name

i'm not really sure i believe that response. i guess i can undersatnd taking a few weeks off or something...ok, no i can't...if the job isn't completed, then waiting several months is absolutely absurd.

i think they are just hoping that you will wait until march to complain again, in which time, they will hopefully have forgotten the whole situation, and can tell you again, that the contracters have taken off another 5 months, because "the weather isn't right"

i agree.

i'm not 'in da biz'... but it seems to me that
someone can easily calculate how long it would
take to lay new asphalt... and counting all the
time for slip ups (wrecks etc)... you should
know in advance that you will not have it completed
in time.


why leave the job half done?
especially when you could have started at another
date and completed it in time for the 'weather'.

to be honest, i haven't seen the highway at night
since.... so i dunno if it looks the same

maybe i can work something out to give it another gander

It's a bit better now. In fact, I probably wouldnt have noticed it the other night had it not been such a common topic around here.

It's still there, of course...but toned down a little bit. However, from what I've seen, it is MUCH worse between the 1st and 2nd Conway exits than on that stretch between Conway and Mayflower.
And I havent seen that stretch of interstate at night in weeks.
